Complete solutions describing limit state of reinforced concrete slabs
Analytical results are established for `complete solutions' for exact limit load of isotropic and orthotropic slabs; use is made of H.G. Hopkins's and W.Schumann's general results on fields of moment, and rate of curvature; criterion is developed for kinematic admissibility of pattern of yield lines and for static admissibility of field of moments; distribution of moments and support reactions is investigated, without making use of concept of nodal force; general equations are established for negative yield line limiting considered plastic field of slab; author gives examples of various loadings and shapes of slab, obtains expressions for exact collapse loads, and states conditions governing validity of solutions.
