A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Inelastic behavior of reinforced concrete structures at ultimate load and application of limit design to reinforced concrete frames and slabs are reviewed; capacity of reinforced concrete sections for plastic rotation and moment redistribution in reinforced concrete frames is discussed; current design practice in several countries is quoted; several features of application of yield-line theory for limit design of concrete slabs are considered, including yield criteria, methods of solution, minimum weight design, design of supporting beams, and effects of membrane action.
