Design and construction of precast concrete multi-storey factory extension
Paper describes design and construction stages of precast concrete multistory factory extension to accommodate nylon-spinning plant and associated auxiliary services; unusually heavy loading conditions on precast framework and flexibility required for differing types of plant called for very careful consideration under extremely tight program requirements; use of precast concrete for framework of factory building which is to be fitted out with complex machinery is not restrictive, nor does it present any more difficulties than those encountered with cased structural steelwork.
