A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Previous article (see Engineering Index 1965 p 261) by author described experience with post-tensioned lift slabs, used on several Los Angeles City School buildings; article made brief mention of certain tests carried on to determine shortening of these lift-slabs due to creep; tests now cover period of nearly four years, and results confirm that long time creep is of minor consequence, when prestress in concrete is low, in order of 400 psi for 28 day concrete strength of 4000 psi.
