As part of study on outward flow of gas and coals, rate of convergence in three roadways of Akabira coal mine is measured; results showed that rate of convergence varies as face advances; sometimes it coincides with rate of gas outflow and sometimes not; this is presumably due to inhomogeneity of roof strata.
