Cement testing according to rilem-cembureau method
Series of comparative tests in seven laboratories showed variations in strength, caused partly by sand used and partly by compression devices; thin sections of various types of quartz sand were examined microscopically, and at same time comparative strength tests were carried out; devices as described in DIN 1164 and DIN 1165 were used for tests; devices were examined for eccentric loading and planeness with steel cube with strain-gages; results showed that different examples of compression device type 1165 did not give uniform results.
