Silicate structure analysis of hydrated portland cement paste
New technique for recovering silicate structures as trimethylsilyl derivatives was used to study hydration of portland cement; only changes in silicate portion of structure can be determined as function of hydration time by this method; cement pastes ranging in age from one day to 14.7 yr were analyzed for study; hydration reaction is shown to be similar to condensation type polymerization.
