Operation of dual lock involves two phases, namely, partial filling from neighboring chamber and additional filling from head race; generalized functions are established for lock filling curves which enable introduction of various laws governing opening of lock filling devices and also possible consideration of variations in discharge coefficient; numerical evaluation is presented graphically.
