A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Technique and results of vibration measurement of five span, steel girder MacDonald-Cartier Bridge between Ottawa and Hull, Quebec; analysis of vibration showed importance of type of exciting force; when final bituminous surface was in place cause of impacts was eliminated, and vibration levels created by road traffic were significantly reduced; close agreement was obtained between measured and theoretical model frequencies of vibration.
