Railroad bridge over highway B51 in Herne-Rottbruch
Two-span bridge crosses 29 m wide highway under angle of 20.4°, and is 116 m long; it consists of two parallel welded steel box beams with 4.8 m distance between axes, and central trough carrying single railroad track; central pier built on highway's dividing strip is only 1.2 m wide, and carries unique neoprene sliding bearing permitting free horizontal deflections of 100 mm; removable plate packets serve for vertical adjustments of spans.
