A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Review of some problems in design of elevated roads; box-girder construction emerges as rational solution; in form of prestressed concrete continuous beams, box-girders can be slender for traffic engineering reasons and, at same time, achieve elegance; simple method of evaluating twisting effects is discussed with some remakrs on shear lag and flow; problem of elevated roads in prestressed concrete is clearly generating new forms of bridge construction.
