Computer-aided bridge design
System described integrates data manipulation, analysis, and partly-to-fully automated design routines for short-span bridges; system is characterized by flexibility in specifying parameters associated with design; depending on amount and type of input specified, design process ranges from completely automatic design for completely specified structure; design processes are requested by designer using simple commands written in language normally used by engineer; present capabilities include highway geometry definition, design and analysis of concrete decks, and design and analysis of simple and continuous steel, plate girder, or rolled section composite or noncomposite bridges.
