Distensible tube flutter from steady driving pressures -- Elementary theory
Elementary and approximate model of distensible tube flutter has been developed; validity of model as good first approximation has been verified experimentally; theses results confirm approximation of assuming tube to be springless and massless membrane; validity of this approximation suggests that accepted methods of measuring systolic and diastolic blood pressure may in fact be quite accurate measurements of quantities they are thought to be; next problem to be considered prior to full analysis of Korotkoff sounds should be analysis of flow, tube shape, and others, which occur within tube during oscillation.
