Durability and behavior of prestressed concrete beams
Investigation was concerned with exposure testing of end anchorages and end-anchorage protection on post-tensioned beams; study consisted essentially of fabrication and testing of 20 air-entrained beams and 280 auxiliary specimens; auxiliary specimens were tested in laboratory to determine strength and plastic properties of mixtures used; 20 beams were installed at Treat Island, Me, exposure station in June 1961, where they are being subjected to freezing and thawing in seawater.
