Tests on composite beams with cellular deck
Results of tests on 15 composite beams with cellular metal decking, and 39 push-out tests are described; influence of rib geometry on load-deflection characteristics of beams and on maximum strength of push-out specimens is shown; tests with two high-strength steel I-beams showed increased load capacity due primarily to delay in occurrence of yield in lower fibers of beams; occurrence of first yielding under load-points of two-point load system appears in some instances to trigger off cracking of concrete in deck ribs.
