Investigation of load carrying capacity of arch in haunched beams; in vertically loaded haunched beams with clamped or restrained ends, roof stresses are developing which tend to considerably reduce bending moments; it is shown how this reduction can be determined by static theory of bars; validity of assumptions was confirmed by results of photoelastic experiments.
