Inelastic buckling of shallow arches
Numerical procedure is presented for determination of inelastic buckling behavior of shallow circular arches subjected to arbitrary loadings; prebuckling deformation, maximum load, critical buckling mode and stress distribution of arch may be numerically determined by this procedure; inelastic arch with built-in ends and subjected to uniform pressure may have symmetric or asymmetric buckling mode at maximum pressure depending on its rise to thickness ratio; maximum pressure and buckling mode may be approximately determined by tangent modulus formulas.
