Electrolytic corrosion of anodic and cathodic areas of underground aluminum structures
Intense corrosion of underground aluminum structures occurs under influence of stray currents in both anodic and cathodic areas of damaged insulation; results of experiments indicate technical difficulties of using cathodic protection of aluminum structures against soil corrosion; development of more reliable method of measuring potential differences between aluminum cable sheathing and ground is necessary to insure effective protection.
