New Royal Air Force hangar for transport aircraft is 1043 ft in length and 214 ft in width; main structure is of high-tensile steel with bolted joints, and consists of cantilever frames founded at back of hangar, and cantilevered for about 150 ft to door head girder, with clear height of about 50 ft beneath frames; roof cladding is of pressed steel decking with cork insulation and felt; drawings show typical frame and wind bracing.
