Velocity of water-hammer wave in elastic pipe
Evaluation of expression for velocity of water hammer wave through fluid in elastic pipe line; result is applied to rigid pipe line, thick-walled and thin-walled elastic pipe lines with various longitudinal constraints, rock tunnels, and tunnels having steel, or concrete, or steel and concrete lining; results obtained are compared with those given in several standard reference books and it is shown that certain errors mostly concerned with effect of external constraints or of Poisson's ratio do exist.
