Energy level of linear dynamic system under random excitation
Simple expressions relating energy level to time-dependent auto-correlation function of disturbance are obtained; reference is made to paper by T.K.Caughey and H.J.Stumpf (indexed in Engineering Index 1962 p 1371); simpler approach based on energy level of system providing physical interpretation of transient process is presented; application of some equations to survival of structures under earthquake shocks is examined.
