Interaction of plane elastic waves with elastic cylindrical shell
Study on interaction between medium and underground protective structures when subjected to effects of nuclear weapons; elastic response of hollow cylindrical shell (tunnel lining) embedded in elastic medium and subjected to incidental plane stress wave traveling in direction perpendicular to axis of shell is analyzed by expressing radial and tangential components of displacement in terms of Fourier series; numerical solutions are obtained to determine effect of several parameters which describe relative physical properties of shell and medium.
