Structural synthesis with buckling constraints
Synthesis technique used to minimize weight of 3-bar planar truss subject to multiple mechanical and thermal loads; technique uses area of members as design parameters and concept of design parameter space, 3 areas being coordinates in space; sample problem shows way in which technique is used to achieve minimum weight design for particular combination of material and configuration; designs are presented for 9 combinations all subject to same multiple load conditions.
