Temporary flow measurement in sewers and drains
Measuring device, suitable for temporary measurements of flow in circular channels or other irregularly shaped channels, is described and results of tests on 2 pairs of geometrically similar devices are reported; device is based on principle of formation of narrow throat in channel, in which critical depth is developed; throat of new measuring device is formed by introducing pier-shaped element, with its sharp end pointing upstream, into channel.
