Simplified tables of external loads on buried pipelines
Tables presented are result of investigation of underground pipes as structures; tables of total effective design loads given have been based on probable worst loading conditions; these are believed to be minimum loads for which provision should be made in rigid circular pipe design; by means of these tables appropriate crushing test strengths or beddings may be selected for circular rigid drain or sewer pipes up to 48 in. ID when laid singly in trench.
