Effects of subgrade stabilization and compaction on flexible pavement performance
Deflection data presented were obtained from performance studies of typical flexible pavements in Virginia, including 2 pavements built as experiments, designed to incorporate several different design variables into same project, and subjected to same traffic; it is concluded that some type of stabilization, other than ordinary mechanical stabilization, is necessary to minimize harmful deflections in flexible pavements built in resilient soil areas.
