Sediment transportation mechanics, density currents
Principles presented are concerned with mechanics and sedimentation characteristics of sediment-laden underflows as found in reservoirs; means of determining certain basic relationships among major variables such as velocity, depth, slope, density difference, and boundary conditions of underflow; resistance laws for uniform underflows are examined; stability and mixing in stratified flows and transportation of sediment by density currents are considered.
