Practical method is proposed whereby in any existing river, if control flow discharge (dominant discharge) is estimated from past records, and size distribution of bed materials can be adquately estimated after pool of dam has been filled up completely with bed load materials, it will be possible to evaluate equilibrium bed profile upstream of dam.
