Results of seismic observations on underground nuclear and TNT explosions
Nature of seismic records obtained in United States and Soviet Union from underground explosions produced in 1957 and 1958; data on transit times of seismic waves, on relationship of amplitude of longitudinal waves to epicentral distance, and also on numerical magnitudes; spatial distribution of positive and negative signs (directions) of first movement on records of stations surrounding epicenter differs substantially from analogous distribution for overwhelming majority of earthquakes. Translated from Trudy Instituta Fiziki Zemli im O.Yu.Shmidta n 15 (182).
