Dynamic stresses in elastic cylinder
Stresses in arbitrarily thick elastic cylinder in infinite elastic medium during passage of plane, compressional, harmonically time varying waves are investigated; determination of stresses around cylinder in elastic medium; numerical results for 2 different cylinders with ratios of outer radius to inner radius ranging from 1. 05 to 1.20 are presented in dimensionless form; it is shown that dynamic stresses in cylinder at certain wave numbers are higher than corresponding static values.
