Design and first steps of construction of Salt Springs dam being built on Mokelumne River in California; reinforced-concrete panel slab 1 to 3 ft. thick, waterproofs upstream face, which is arched upstream in plan; details of joints in facing slab; 48,000 sec.-ft. spillway is 650 ft. long, 15.5 ft. below crest, will take care of run-off of 300 sec.-ft. per sq. mi.
