Overheating of aggregates found detrimental to concrete
Tests carried out in Minnesota Highway Department laboratory, showing that to get full development of inherent strength of concrete, temperature of concrete, when placed, should not exceed 70 deg. fahr.; results of flow tests; concrete placed at 130 deg. fahr. loses approximately 20 per cent of its strength.
