Design of river des peres drainage channel, St. Louis, Mo.
July 24: Channel, under construction in St. Louis, Mo., will replace 18 mi. of natural stream by 13 mi. of structure to carry stream flow in manner consistent with standards of sewerage of city; analysis of hydraulic problems and of wide single-arch and twin-conduit construction; channel will consist of 9 mi. of open canal in earth and in rock and 4 mi. of reinforced-concrete arch conduit including 10,000 ft. of twin arches each 29 ft. wide; schedule of construction.
