Writer shows how calculation of statically indeterminate structures can be approached from another standpoint than that of theory of elasticity and carried out on basis of elementary laws and formulae of mechanics. For sake of reference and comparison, a summary of horizontal thrusts and fixing moments for fixed frames under same loads as given for hinged ones, is presented in illustrations.
