Misalinement in bolted joints
Effect of various misalignment patterns on functional characteristics of bolted joints was investigated; conclusions indicate that unsymmetrical misalignment might cause definite readjustments in behavior of joints while in process of loading; major characteristics, such as ultimate load and joint efficiency, are not significantly changed; because readjustments require plastic deformations, results apply only to steels with sufficient range of plastic deformability.
