A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Width-thickness ratio and length-depth ratios are derived analytically, and solution is applicable to both structural carbon and high-strength steels; dependence of inelastic local buckling on strain-hardening stiffness is emphasized, and it is shown that variations of limiting ratios between various types of steel are not only function of yield stress variations; inelastic material properties of member are assessed by method based on metallurgical behavior of steel.
