Rheological properties and bearing capacity of frozen soils
Investigation was conducted to study strength and stability of frozen soil under building foundations; questions are examined as they concern rheological processes which occur in frozen soil, i.e., processes of changes of load-deformation conditions with time; experiments were carried out both under laboratory conditions and under field conditions in two experimental areas; part of investigations were conducted over period of several months, and, in some instances, several years. Translated from Russian edition of Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 1959.
