Consolidation characteristics and bond strength of adsorbed water of clay soils
Effect of plastic resistance of adsorbed water, which is independent of normal pressure, on consolidation phenomena is explained with particular reference to initial void and load increment ratios; attempt is made to explain sensitivity and thixotropic characteristics of clays in terms of plastic resistance of adsorbed water.
