Experiments to determine rate of evaporation from saturated soils and river-bed sands
Study of evaporation loss from soils contained in tanks under like exposure, soils ranging from coarse river sand to heavy dark alkaline soil, with water table maintained at 1, 6 and 12 in. beneath surface; use of Mariotte principle in obtaining evaporation loss gives more dependable results than method of weighing. (See also - no. 4 Apr. 1929, pp. 843-854, 4 figs. and (discussion))
