A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A machine for molding laboratory specimens of bituminous paving mixtures
Early methods found unsatisfactory; new molding machine, developed by U. S. Bureau of Public Roads, consists of loading arm with rocker arm attached, collapsible steel box for holding specimen, and driving mechanism by which box is moved backward and forward; specimens produced of satisfactory uniformity and of desired void content; machine useful for stability test on finegrain mixtures and other tests.
