Rubber possesses characteristics that make it ideal for paving; great resistance of abrasion which is surpassed by no other material, and power of withstanding deformation without permanent alteration; surface of rubber road is impervious and dustless, easily cleaned and requires no watering; it is not slippery; it is hard yet resilient, and requires no maintenance, prevents vibration and reduces noises of traffic.
