Surveys indicate that transverse dummy joints, which were adopted by city of Seattle as standard construction on concrete pavement three years ago, have almost eliminated cracks; method of construction of dummy joints, using T-bar to make groove, inserting premolded filler, longitudinal floating over joint; testing continuity over finished dummy joints.
