Ordnance depot uses rock salt to help free roads of snow
Rock salt is being used in large quantities to keep roads and working platforms at northern ordnance depot free of ice and snow; salt is spread over pavements soon after snow begins to fall to keep accumulations from freezing to surface and to facilitate work of plows; similar treatment is applied to platforms of munitions igloos.
