Interregional highway system proposed for postwar construction
Creation of interregional highway system of 33,920 mi by reconstruction or relocation of outmoded highways has been proposed; work on system would be undertaken as post war project and carried forward at rate of about $750,000,000 per yr for several years; costs would be divided about equally between states and federal government; general location of routes proposed are shown on map.
