A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Experiments on evaporation pan 1 ft in diam in still air and under controlled conditions, are described; analogy is drawn between heat transfer and mass transfer as they occur in evaporation; results of experiments are correlated by use of these dimensionless groups, and effects of variables, vapor pressure difference, wind velocity, pan diameter, water temperature, air pressure, rim height, color of pan, are discussed and evaluated.
