Tests of concrete containing Florida "ojus" rock
Results of investigation made to determine whether aggregate made from Florida coral formation known as "Ojus" rock is as satisfactory as natural sand and trap rock for use in reinforced concrete exposed to action of seawater; because of porous nature, ability of rock to protect imbedded reinforcing steel against corrosion has been questioned; tests made by subjecting concrete specimens in which plain steel rods were imbedded to alternate immersions in synthetic seawater followed by drying in air. (See also Pub Roads v 23 n 12 Apr-May-June 1944 p 315-8) (Cement Mill Sec)
