Dynamic test, based on inducing vibrations in pile by means of blow on its upper end, permits rapid checking of its soundness and its embedment in foundation soil; method is especially suitable for cast-in-situ piles, in which even serious defects cannot be detected by simple means; at present, dynamic method serves for comparative checking of piles placed under similar soil profiles, and accordingly requires series of static loading tests, with which dynamic data are shown to be in agreement.
