Method of tapping sub-surface water with particular reference to water supply for Gujarat refinery project
French method of tapping sub-surface water to increase surface of well draw-off in contact with underground water; this is done by constructing enlargement of development of well which is effected by means of radiating pipes; structure consists of cylindrical well of reinforced concrete going into alluvium to as great depth as possible; from bottom of well radiant pipes are driven horizontally; steel pipes are 200 mm ID and up to 40 m in length; length is determined by texture and yield of alluvium.
