Cracks are divided into two classes: (a) Irregular transverse cracks extending from curb to curb; which do not appear in properly constructed roads laid with alternate bay method of construction; and (b) objectionable cracks longitudinal with road which wear into ruts. Describes construction in alternate bays; requirements for perfect roadway.
