Project operated by Portland General Electric Co, and located on Deschutes River, 10 mi northwest of town of Madras, consists of 204-ft high thin arch dam, power house containing three vertical 55,000-hp Francis turbines driving 40,000-kw generators, and regulating dam consisting of rock fill section and concrete center spillway; dam site geology; features of arch dam; foundation grouting; spillway model study; establishment of complete construction plant.
